Shippon Cottage is a charming, spacious and romantic cottage for two (plus a sofa bed) with wonderful views of Lose Hill and the surrounding countryside. Built in 1872 from local limestone, this substantial stone cottage originally housed the farm’s dairy and hay loft. Converted in 2000 it now provides spacious, high quality holiday accommodation and is a perfect retreat after a day exploring the Peak District.
The cottage is beautifully laid out. Upstairs is one large open space incorporating a bedroom and living room. The bedroom features a spectacular antique four poster bed. The rooms can be separated by drapes with a comfortable sofa bed in the living area giving flexibility for a third guest.
Downstairs features a second sitting room which opens on one side onto the gravel terrace and back lawn and on the other into the stable courtyard. The terrace area has garden furniture and a barbecue. Over the summer months the lawn has a gazebo for guests use.
The downstairs sitting room has a cast iron gas stove giving a cosy feel on chilly evenings. The downstairs bathroom has a bath, electric shower, wash basin and toilet. All towels and bed linen supplied.
Meanwhile the kitchen is fully equipped with a four ring electric hob, grill and oven; a microwave; dishwasher; fridge freezer and washing machine. The kitchen has the full compliment of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.
The cottage is centrally heated. There are TVs/DVDs upstairs and down plus the cottage has WI-FI internet access.
Well behaved dogs are welcome at no extra cost. Maximum two dogs per cottage. No puppies, young dogs, aggressive breeds or excessively large animals please!
